Makeup Tutorial: NAKED!

Here are the pictures for the tutorial I just did on Youtube using the original Naked palette. This more of a wearable look than I created for New Year's so hopefully you all find this helpful and you can use it for an everyday look as well!
Here are a list of the colors that I used and where I used them:
Sin; The champagne color. Also the second color in the palette. I used Sin all over the eyelid and in my inner corner.
Buck; The soft red/brown matte color which is 5th in the palette. I used this color in the brow bone area to blend out the edges of sin and to create a nice transition color.
Smog; The bronze-brown color that is 7th in the palette. I used Smog on the outer "v" and blended it into the crease. Also used on the bottom middle part of the lower lash line.
Dark Horse; located to the right of Smog, the 8th color in the palette, I lightly stuck a little bit in the outer corner to give the look some depth. I also used on the outer part of the bottom lash line.
Virgin; The first color in the palette, I used right under the brow as my highlight shadow.

Nails of the moment: Sally Hansen Nail Strips in Frockstar!

So, for New Year's, me and my boyfriend went down to NC to visit his family. His birthday was actually on the 30th, so we celebrated that too. I wanted to look super cute for the weekend, and since it was New Year's, I knew I had to have something glittery. The first thing that popped into my head was the Sally Hansen Real Nail Polish Strips. I had seen the glittery nails so many times and finally gave myself the excuse to buy them!

This glittery/confetti color is called "Frockstar." First, let's talk about the application of these. Now, it is a little bit time consuming. It may have been because it was my first time doing it so I was also kind of learning, but it probably took me about 30-45 minutes to complete the application whereas just painting my nails always takes me 20 minutes or less. So, do these when you have some time to spare. However, although it was time consuming, it was not HARD to do. The instructions are very helpful. I just took the extra time to make sure the strips were secure on my nail and none of the sides were lifting up.

It comes with a mini nail file with two different sides, a white side and pink side. One side you are supposed to use to file/shape your nails. the other side you are supposed to use to file the excess nail strip off of you nail and smooth it down onto yours. Now of course you do NOT need a top coat. HOWEVER, I read on a few different blogs that other girls have used a top coat and it lasts longer because it prevents the edges from lifting up as soon. So I did use a top coat.

These strips lasted me an ENTIRE week with only one TINY chip on one of my nails that was hardly even noticeable. And then eventually they do start to lift up at the nail beds and the sides of the nails but they lasted a very long time and I was impressed. Not to mention, they look gorgeous! I got so many compliments with these glitter nails and I couldn't stop looking at them myself. They're so pretty.

I don't think I would ever spend the money on the plain ones because these range from about 7.99-9.99 depending on where you buy them and there are only enough strips inside for one FULL application. I could just buy one bottle of nail polish that much and have it forever basically. BUT the ones with the designs on them are so cute I would definitely recommend them and buy them again.

Eatin' Good: Cucumber Sandwiches

Hey everyone!
So I know I haven't posted in about a week or so, but I wanted to update you on my weight loss. As you guys may know I hit a major plateau for a couple of months. To be honest, I wasn't eating the best that I could or working out as much as I could, but I really didn't have the time! I think I'm finally getting past it! And I will do a whole different post on how I found my motivation again and what I'm doing now, BUT this post is just for one of the meals I've been making that has helped me get over my plateau...CUCUMBER SANDWICHES! Now I know some of you are thinking..."Huh? Is it just bread and cucumbers?" "Is there any meat on it?" "Is it good?" well, No, No, and YES! I have been on a cucumber sandwich KICK, I love them! So I posted a picture of one of my cucumbers sandwiches on Twitter the first night I ate them (and if you're not following me on twitter, please do: @xoxokryssie) and got TONS of questions, so I am posting some recipes on here and all of your questions will be ANSWERED! Okay, here we go!

Recipe:
A cucumber!
A tomato2-4 slices of wheat bread
Light spreadable butter
Light spreadable cream cheese
Dill weed (or maybe even a dill spread would be even BETTER! instead of cream cheese or butter maybe?)
Salt
Pepper
Garlic Powder
So, instead of putting butter on both sides, put it on ONE side and put the cream cheese on the other side. Then add the salt, pepper, and garlic powder to taste, as well as the dill weed. Then take the peeled sliced cucumbers and small/thin slices of tomatoes and put them on, too! Don't forget your hard boiled egg!Alrighty, hope you guys like these and if you make them different ways, please let me know. I'm soo obsessed with them and eating these has really been helping me lose weight! I've eaten one almost everyday since I've started making them a week ago and I'm still not sick of them!

So as you can see, I usually eat these with a hard boiled egg. I've been obsessed with those too lately, and they just seem to go really well together. ALSO, sometimes I will crumble it up and put it ON the sandwich (then I wouldn't cut the sandwich up into smaller ones, I'd leave it on a full sized bread).
Recipe:
A Cucumber! (I usually only use like 1/3 of one, maybe less.)
2-4 slices of wheat bread (depending on how hungry you are!)
Light spreadable butter
Salt
Pepper
Garlic Powder
So, I usually cut them up into finger food size, but sometimes I don't. It's optional. Anyways, take a small amount of butter and lightly but evenly coat each side of the bread. Season one side with salt, pepper, and garlic pepper, just to taste. Peel the cucumber first and then slice into thin slices, and put a layer of cucumbers on the bread! and... you're DONE! Super simple! Oh, and don't forget your hard boiled egg which, like I said, you can eat on the side or crumble on top. lol. See you guys in the next post!

Hey everyone!
I came to NC with my boyfriend this weekend to spend some time with his family. I always love coming down here to see his family. They're always so nice and I just love being around them! Anyways, when we got here, Mike's (my boyfriend) niece was here. Her name is MaKayla and she's 10. I love her! I have a older brother AND sister, both of which have no children, and I've always wanted to be an Aunty! So I kind of feel like an aunty to her, even though legally I'm not since me and my boyfriend aren't married...yet! He has so many nieces and nephews, some younger than him, some are OLDER! But I guess that's not too unusual in a big country family--and I love that. ANYWAYS...
We were hanging out with his niece last night when we got here and she stayed here with us and hung out with us today. We were headed out to Walmart because Mike forgot all of his boxers at home, lol and since it's a nice day out, and since I like my outfit today, I thought I'd take some pictures. So here's my OOTD, and I threw in a picture of Mike and MaKayla too because they were lookin' just as cute! :)

Nails of the Moment: Best of Both Worlds

Hey ladies, I did a little shopping today and ended up picking up two nail polishes and I knew I had to try them out as soon as I got home...so I did! I went to Walgreen's and picked up Sally Hansen's "Plum Parfait" and Wet N' Wild's "Party of Five Glitters."
I thought Plum Parfait looked a little rocker-ish since it's such a dark color, yet it's perfect for fall! And then to add a little girlish-pizazz, I topped it with Part of Five Glitters. I think the two look great together.
I took this picture with my new iPhone 4S, so I'm super excited about the quality as opposed to my stupid Blackberry that I used to take SOME of my Nails of the Moment pictures...not all. But you could definitely tell which ones I DID take with my BB. Anyways, despite the little bit of ashiness from this 100% acetone nail polish remover, I hope you like the way they turned out!

(Btw I used two coats of each! and no top coat! Super shiny!)

Special Haul: My WHITE iPhone 4S!

It's finally here, my iPhone 4S I am so excited! I just can't believe it. I have been dealing with the absolute worst phone in the world: The Blackberry Curve 8330. I mean, the phone would freeze all of the time, and don't tell me it was because I had low memory because it did so WITHOUT the memory card in it. I was on my second one that I had only had since APRIL and a few months later it had already started acting up, terrible. Randomly my phone would go to a blank screen that said RESET, and the phone takes like 7 minutes to turn back on! It's just TERRIBLE!

Finally, this little baby comes around and my world is okay again. The iPhone, as well as all apple products, are immaculate and incomparable. There is no way you can hold a Blackberry and iPhone next to each other and say that the blackberry is better. Okay, maybe you like keyboards and smaller phones. BUT! You can feel the difference of quality in your HAND. The iPhone is constructed from aluminum and the screen is amazing, nothing that a Blackberry has can compare except it's physical keypad which is made of plastic, just like the rest of the phone.

I could go on and on about this stupid Blackberry and this amazing iPhone for days, but let me just show you the pictures of my brand new baby. Those Blackberry days are behind me now, I'm officially Team iPhone!

OOTD: Thrifty :)

So, this is what I wore to class today. This is the shirt that I got from Good Will the other day when I went thrifting and I have to say I'm in love with this shirt. The print reminds me of one of those weird Hawaiian shirts that your uncle with the beer belly always wears to the beach, lol. But, the style of it is so chic! It has shoulder pads that I LOVE and the back has a keyhole at the top which I failed to snap a picture of.

I thought that these shorts, did not necessarily match, but definitely complimented the colors of the shirt. By the way, the shirt is by the brand Tess. Anyways, I love the way the shirt fit me. I was so comfortable in this outfit all day and I honestly, felt super skinny and confident. I don't know why, but this shirt is magical haha.

Anyways, then I'm wearing super cute sandals and gold accessories to throw the outfit together. My boyfriend captured a great picture of my Juicy bracelet. He's getting better the more I force him to take awkward pictures of me, lol. Oh I love him so. Okay, enough blabbering. Here's the outfit:

♥ NOTM: Peachy Keen/Goin' to the Chapel!

Hello ladies. I desperately needed to paint my nails today. I love pretty pastely colors, so I decided to go with Peachy Keen by China Glaze. I hadn't worn this color in a while, so I figured I'd do something a little different. I've been so into pinks lately. This color is more of an orangey peach, so I love it. To add a little something to it, I topped it with a layer of Orly's Goin' to the Chapel, which is just a really pretty sheer iridescent color. The combination of the two is gorgeous. ♥ SPICY turkey spinach burrito!

Okay, so I made a post about a turkey spinach wrap earlier that my girl Mrsciararae told me how to make (click on the link to go to her YouTube page). But I was in the mood for something spicy, yet I still wanted to keep it healthy. SO, I mixed up my own little concoction that ended up being VERY yummy. Here's what you need:

Ground Turkey
Frozen Spinach (thawed just a little)
Whole wheat tortillas
part skim mozzarella cheese
Cumin, Garlic powder, salt, and pepper
Light butter, light sour cream, apple cider vinegar, and some red chili sauce/paste.

First, throw the ground turkey into the pan and begin to brown. Once it starts browning, but still pink (after 1 or 2 minutes), start adding in the frozen spinach. I usually just use 3-4 big chuncks of the frozen spinach, but you can add how much you want. Season the meat with pepper, cumin, garlic powder and salt to taste. In a very small sauce pan, combine 3 rather large spoonfuls of light butter, and 2 medium spoonfuls of the red chili sauce (I sometimes go a little overboard because I love the spiciness). After those melt together completely, add a spoonful of sour cream, a cap full or 1/2 a tablespoon of apple cider vinegar and stir together. I like to add some salt and garlic powder to the sauce as well. Once the sauce is melted, and the spinach has wilted, and the turkey is browned/done, add the sauce to the turkey mixture. It should not make it runny, it should just evenly coat the turkey and give it lots of flavor.
Once Turkey is evenly coated with the sauce, spoon into warmed tortillas. Top with mozzarella cheese, then spread in extra sour cream and chili sauce if you want and you're done! I made this for me and my boyfriend and although it was healthy, he still loved it! I plan on making these again, as well as the plain ones. ♥ New Fashion Must-have: Flares!

Flares and trouser pants are SO in for this fall season. They've been on every runway and in every fashion magazine, and every store has them. I've seriously been thinking about trying some out and Old Navy has a lot of cute pairs for affordable prices. Although the higher end brands have a lot of nice ones, Old Navy has a very big/cheap selection. So if your budget is kinda low but you've been wanting to try some out, head to Old Navy!
I think I'm going to get some on my next pay check, and I actually work at Old Navy, that's how I know they have such great ones. But I've been so stuck on skinny jeans since they got popular years ago, but now I'm trying to branch out and get a broader selection in my closet. Plus, I've been really into fashion the last year so I want to get a lot of different, nice pieces and mix match things. I want to keep an open mind on the pieces in my closet and have as much as possible. Especially things that are really popular like flares and trouser pants!
So let me know what you ladies think of the flare pants and whether you've been thinking about getting some too. OR if you have! And in your opinion, what are the best shoes to wear with flared jeans?

Turkey Spinach Wraps/Tacos!

Here is another HEALTHY yet YUMMY recipe that only takes about 15 minutes to make from start to finish. What you need is:

Tortillas (I used regular, but use wheat, I just couldn't find wheat ones at the store!)
Ground turkey
Frozen Spinach
Part skim milk Mozzarella cheese
Fat-free plain greek yogurt
Salt
Pepper
Garlic powder

Throw the ground turkey into the pan. I'm not going to say how much, just however much you want to cook. Let it cook a little on the outsides and add the pepper, salt, garlic powder, and whatever other seasonings you want. Those are the only 3 I used. Add in frozen spinach. I definitely didn't use a whole box for myself. I hardly used 1/4 of a box for myself, but just add it depending on your taste. I don't like too much, but I just to taste it a little bit. So cook those together until it's all fully cooked. In the mean time, on a griddle or another skillet, warm tortillas until they are a little cripsy, and put the mozzarella cheese on the tortillas so it can melt as they warm. Warm on low heat so that they don't burn. When the cheese is melted, spoon turkey and spinach onto each tortilla evenly. Add a spoon full of non-fat plain greek yogurt (a healthier substitute to sour cream) and enjoy!

I love Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure .
I love the brushes, I love the colors, and I love the quality of
the polish. Not to mention, they run about $3 cheaper than
that of OPI and Essie. And while those two are great brands,
I don't always need to pay more now to get the gorgeous colors
I see all the time because Sally has them all.
This is a really gorgeous sandy/neutral color called, "Without
a Stitch." The first photo of my nails is without a flash, the
second photo is with a flash, and although I have a great camera
it still doesn't look as good in the photo as it does in person.
I wanted to pick up a few other polishes but I need to learn
how to have self control...lol.

I love this color by Essie. It's like a periwinkle blue and it's gorgeous for summer! I also just did my toes, and put "Shower Together" by China Glaze on them. But, I don't like taking pictures of my feet lol. In this picture you can't tell, but I also put a glitter over top of my nails. I forget the name but it's one of those white/confetti glitters and it's by Wet N' Wild. Yep :)

Spinach and Feta Chicken Sausages!

[This is a new recipe me and my boyfriend tried out together. We saw these spinach and feta chicken sausages at Martin's and since we're trying to eat healthier, we decided to try them out. This whole meal was DELISH for about 330 calories per sausage dog. Not to mention, these were very inexpensive! 5 came in a pack that was only $4. Hope you enjoy!]

1 Spinach and Feta chicken sausage link (comes in a pack. you can cook more than one at once, but I'm just doing this recipe per serving).
Chopped up Vidalia onion
Chopped up baby bella mushrooms
1 steak bun or hoagie bun
Mozzarella Cheese

put sausage link in pan with a little olive oil to coat the pan and fry until browned, or until desired. In another pan, sauté Vidalia onions and mushrooms. I just put measurements above because the recipe thing makes me, but as much as YOU want to top on our sausage is good. This is just about as much as I used personally. Once both are done, put sausage in bun, top with sauteed onions and mushrooms, top with mozzarella cheese! I added about a tbsp of Ragu marinara sauce to the top of mine and it was great! Serve with a side of veggies!

Nails of the Moment!

Haven't done one of these in a while, sorry for the lack of posts. Anyways, here are my nails of the moment! I LOVE this color. This is my first time trying out Jesse's Girl nail polishes, actually...my first time trying out Jesse's Girl anything! I really love the color. I'm not sure if it was my top coat or the nail polish, but it did chip kinda quick. Well, I was at work, too so that may be why. BUT i just applied a fresh coat and it looked beautiful! I got so many compliments on this color at work, as well.
The color is called: "Glee."

[ it's actually showing up a little bit more blue-ish on camera. It's more of a teal in real life. There's definitely also some greeny/tealy shimmers and undertones, and the camera really doesn't do this color much justice. it's gorgeous! ]

Hello ladies!

Do NOT worry. I have not forgotten that this is a fashion blog. I've just been really busy lately finishing up school, but I will be back on track with that. However lately, as you can see, one of my main focuses has been my health/weight loss. I took this picture the other day with one of these naked fruit juice smoothies, and i love them! I try to drink only half of one a day, but they're so good and filled with all of the nutrients you need! They are a little pricey and have a lot of sugar in the entire bottle, but it's natural sugar and they've been helping me out a lot. I officially hit my 10 pounds weight loss mark today. I started out at 188 about 6 weeks ago, and today i'm officially 178.
With a lot of exercise and healthy choices I've been able to make that happen and I don't see that changing any time soon. I've been making excuses way too long saying stuff like, "I'm only a little bit chubby," and "I'm not that big," which is true. I NEVER thought I was fat. I still don't. But I would love to look better in a bikini in the summers and I REALLY want to be healthier. I've heard too many stories of people my age having diabetes, some even smaller than me! It makes you realize that you don't have to be over weight to have diabetes. Not to mention in runs in both sides of my families. After my mom's passing, I've also been wanting to eat more fruits and stuff like anti-oxidants: cancer-fighting foods. Not saying my mom wasn't healthy, she was never unhealthy until she had cancer, but I want to be as healthy as I can be and teach my children to be healthy eaters, too.
Denial is the worst disease when it comes to being over weight. That and lack of motivation. I have the motivation now and i'm no longer in denial. I shake my head at some women who are over weight that continue to make excuses about why they don't want to try and lose weight, but I was one of them. Once they realize that it's for their HEALTH, they will get out of that denial phase and start to make the right decisions.

Okay so you all know that I've been working out like crazy and i've been a health freak lately, and I've been meaning to take more pictures of the food I make and eat to share with you guys. I twit pic it a lot, so that's where most of the pictures go, so you should follow me on twitter ;)
Anyways, this is what I had today for lunch. Quick, light, and healthy!

I had some Crystal Light, because sometimes water just isn't enough! I need some flavor! And Crystal Light is sooo yummy without having the sugar that Koolaid is filled with. Then I had a orange, I just sliced in half, vegtable chips (which are SO GOOD by the way, you can find them in the organic section of your grocery store), and a little cheese and cracker sticks snacker thing.
I didn't have to make anything, just pulled it together into a nice yummy lunch. So, it's not always hard to eat healthy! I used to think it was! Hope you ladies enjoyed :)

sorry I've been gone for so long!
I've been really busy with family, finals, and work, but I am really trying to work my blog and YouTube back to my channel. It's really only been like 2 weeks, but it seems like it's been forever! SO I APOLOGIZE! But this is 1 of 2 of my blog posts I'll be posting today! Hope you enjoy!

So, I was so excited when I recently found a Maxi dress that looked great on me. I told my best friend about it and she was like "ewww Maxi dresses don't look good on short people." But i'm not one to care about what anyone else thinks, and YOU shouldn't be either! Dulcecandy87 is 4'9, right? and she rocks Maxi dresses sooooo good! Your HEIGHT does not make you sexy and does not make you look good in clothes. Your confidence does. So just because you're short does not mean you can't wear a maxi dress. You won't get locked up, you won't get stoned, and you won't get fined. YOU CAN WEAR ONE! LOL.
Anyways here is my outfit from the day I wore it. I went shopping and I even got a few compliments the day I wore it. I felt sooo gorgeous in my Maxi! I want more!

The Truth: When it comes to exercising!

Hello ladies.
I know I haven't posted on here in a while and I apologize. Life happened, and I'm very busy and stuff but I will be posting more. I promise. I've been thinking about my new blog post and what it should be about and i'm going to talk more about health and exercising but from a different point of view, hopefully to inspire some of you who, well, need inspiring.

If you are over weight, self-conscious about your weight, OR have been wanting to start going to the gym to do something about it but haven't, I know why. TRUST ME! I've been there. And I'm finally come to the realization that the whole time I was NEVER exercising it was my fault, and I was the one stopping myself. The most important thing is to ADMIT to yourself why you're not doing it, get out of your own way, and start. It's never too late, and exercising is a great way to lose and weight and most importantly BE HEALTHY!
A lot of girls will say they don't go to the gym because they don't want to go alone, so they need a buddy. That is very true, however if all of your "buddies" already go to the gym, or they're already thinner than you and stuff, it's still not easy to get up and go with them. My freshman year of college I gained about 10 pounds. I was already chubby, but confident with myself. Then I noticed that by March of my spring semester, my double chin was way worse, my cheeks were fatter, and I had two huge stretch marks going up my stomach from it getting larger than it's supposed to be. (If you have stretch marks, that's the skin on your body telling you "You're not supposed to have stretched me out this far!") So, gaining the weight made me just say "F*** a buddy," so I started going by myself.
The hardest thing about going by yourself is the first day: You walk in, look around, and you feel like everyone is starring at you (it's all in your head). Then you start working out and you think everyone's looking at your blubbering fat (that's in your head too. you might feel your fat jiggling, but if you take a good look around, there are other chubby girls there, so who cares). But if you push yourself and say, "Hey, Self. This is hard, but I have to start somewhere. No one is looking at my fat, and yes it is jiggly, why isn't that why I'm here in the first place?" then you'll be okay. After the first week you'll feel like you belong, and maybe you'll meet some other buddies that you can start meeting there at the same time a few times a week!
That was the hardest part for me: going by myself, and worrying about other people watching me! THEY'RE NOT WATCHING YOU! I promise. If you go in the gym and act like you know what you're doing, no one is going to know it was your first time there alone. If you stop worrying about what other people are seeing: fat rolls, butt crack, jiggly legs, double chin faces when you're lifting weights, STOP WORRYING! Everyone at the gym is there to fix something and they've ALL thought the same thing you thought at one point in time. Be confident and get YOURSELF out of your head. Force yourself to go the first few times and you'll be used to it. I promise.

I hope that I could help get you past the HARDEST step when it comes to starting out your workout routine. I've been there and if you just push yourself, I promise you'll be okay :)

Just wanted to start sharing you all what exactly I do at the gym from now on everyday that I go. I usually go about 4-5 days a week, so as much as I can, I will go over what I do each and every day at the gym. By no means am I an expert, I'm just sharing what I like to do and what works for me. It's important to switch up your gym routine/work outs sometimes so that you get a variety. Also so your body doesn't get too used to something. So yeah, I don't do the same thing everyday, so hopefully I can give you ideas, and you can always give ME ideas, too! I'd love to try them out and share them as well!

What I did today:

-Walked .20 of a Mile, 3.5 MPH, About a 3.5-4.0 Incline
-Ran .50 of a Mile, 5.8 MPH, 0.0 Incline

[ all of which equal a mile ]
-Ran .20 of a Mile, 5.8 MPH, 0.0 Incline
-Walked .50 of a Mile, 3.5, 5.0 Incline
In all I ran/walked 1.70 miles.
-Walked a total of: 1.00 Mile

Non Cardio:
-25 Sit-ups on Sit-up bench
-20 sets of 4 "calf presses", I explain how to do these in the video :)

OOTD: Mixing Styles

Finally back with a OOTD post.
I'm going to try and start doing more of these. I do more videos because I can record the videos myself and upload them to YouTube, but when I do a post, I was great, high quality pictures, so I gotta get my boyfriend to do it. He doesn't mind though, so he'll just have to keep doing it from now on.
Anyways, lol I named this outfit "Mixing Styles" because each article of clothing kind of has a different style to it. The sweater is kind of preppy, yet the wedges are edgy. The rhinestone hoops are very modern, yet the wire-twist tie head band has a very 60's-ish style to it. However, this goes to show you that combining different styles is a GREAT thing--don't be afraid to do it!

Weight loss: SUCCESS!

So I know that a lot of you have followed me since my very first blog, but I also know that some of you haven't; so let me explain. Well first of all, my last blog, I accidentally deleted, and I was honestly REALLY upset. You may think, oh it's just a blog, but I was in the middle of things, I had awesome followers, and all of a sudden it's GONE! But I have started over and gotten all of my followers back and then some, so I am highly excited.
Anyways, one of the main things that I was talking about on my old blog was weight loss. Talking about weight loss and updating on your blog all the time almost keeps you motivated to keep moving forward. So, when my blog got deleted, the motivation kind of went away and I stopped going. So I've had this blog for a while now, and when the New Year came around, I made my New Years Resolution to LOSE WEIGHT & STICK TO IT! So Since January 1st I've been eating healthy and going to the gym. A lot. Speaking of New Years Resolutions, I've actually come to the conclusion that my New Years Resolution is to better myself as a whole. I'm decided to stop flat ironing my hair nearly as much [I've been going well with that and noticed some hair growth], I've decided to look around to get a skin care routine down that works for me so that my skin can go back to looking great all the time [i haven't started this yet, but my skin has been in bad condition lately], and then the weight loss, which is what I'm mainly focusing on.
Okay so anyways, back to the weight loss. So right after THIS blog I'm going to type up what I do and my tips, and what I've been eating lately. But here I'm going to tell you about what inspired me to lose weight.
Honestly, when I was in my dorm, I started to get so motivated, and I was working out everyday almost, and it was great. I was noticing like a pound a week was coming off, and that was perfect for me! Then, once I went home from college, there was no gym and I started to slack off. I was doing Taebo with Bills Blanks for a while but that stopped eventually as well. So with no exercise I managed to stay the same weight for a while, but then I got my own apartment in the city where I go to school, and because I'm a college kid, I don't have much money, so I was eating really un-healthy. Not to mention, I have classes Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, and each Day I had a 1-2pm break. During this break I'd go to Starbucks and get a drink every time. I blame Starbucks for making me weigh the most I've ever weight in my life. I've never weighed over 200 thank God, but I was getting a little too close for comfort. So honestly as weird as this sounds, GAINING weight was my inspiration for LOSING it.
Have you ever heard the saying, "Sometimes you have to hit rock bottom before you can get back to the top?" Well that's exactly how I felt. It just clicked in my head. And I mean literally it was only 5 pounds heavier, but I could see it in my face, I felt BLOATED all the time, I didn't feel sexy, and even though I've never really been that skinny, I've ALWAYS been confident. But for the first time in my life I felt so un-sexy and so very BLAH!
My boyfriend would sit with my while I cried trying to convince me that I'm beautiful no matter what and that if I wanted to the lose the weight than I COULD! It only took me until the next DAY to get up and to go the gym, and I've gone almost every day since. I was so out of shape just a little over a month ago.
I could hardly run for 2 minutes when I first hopped in the tred mill, so I began walking on an incline, then I would do the bike for more cardio and lift weights (which is good for girls trying to LOSE weight. it won't turn you into the Hulk, I promise!) And just YESTERDAY I ran my first STRAIGHT MILE that I've ever ran in my life! I mean, I haven't been weighing myself during this entire process because I don't have a scale at home, but I've noticed a difference in my face, my legs, and my stomach. I am so ecstatic. As soon as I was done with my mile, I called my boyfriend (because I'm at home visiting my mom and my boyfriend had to work so he stayed at home), and I was breathing all hard and stuff, it was so funny but he was so proud of me.
Anyways, I'll go through my process with you in the next blog. This one's getting kind of long.
But not that I have a solid routine and it's working and I'm really into it and REALLY motivated, I'm going to keep you ladies updated. But this will STILL remain a fashion/beauty channel, as well. :)

Mini CVS HAUL

I wanted to take advantage of the huge CVS sale that was going on. A lot of good stuff was like 50% and 75% off, so I stopped in and got all of these things for about $12 dollars.

From left to right.
Then i'll go to the front.

The First Wet n' Wild lipstick is in the color [ Fuchsia with Blue shimmer (or something along those lines) ] and the number is [ 521 A ]. It's a really gorgeous bright Magenta color, and I've been looking for one to try out. I really like it, and it's very moisturizing. It wasn't part of the CVS sale, but it was only $.99.

The Second lipstick is by Rimmel and it's in the color [ Pink Blush ]. It's a very gorgeous, pale pink color. I love those colors. It's kind of like a barbie pink. I know I have a lot of those types of colors, but you honestly can never have too many. This color was included in the 75% off sale. It ended up being about $1-$2. I forget which Rimmel lipstick was what price, but each one was somewhere between $1-$2. They are orginally almost $6.00, so a great deal!
The Third lipstick is another Rimmel, as you can tell I love their lipsticks. This one is from a different collection but beautiful nonetheless. This one is called [ Spotlight Beige ]. This was definitely the cheapest of the two that I remember and was only about 1$ something, and was part of the 75% off sale. It's a very gorgeous nude color, I love it and it comes off VERY glossy. So pretty. Not to mention the gorgeous packaging. I LOVE this metallic purple tube.

The last lipstick is yet another Rimmel lipstick. I'm not sure if those are just all that was left from the sale, but they just had the best deals. Not to mention, I loved the Rimmel colors better than any other brand. Anyways, this last one is called [ Amethyst Shimmer ]. I've been looking for a berry-purple color for a really long time and I finally found one that I really like! I'm trying to get more into colorful, and more dark colors to widen my collection. Also Spring is coming soon, and purple lipstick is IN! So I found one that I really like! This Lipstick came with the light pink lip liner that's laying in front of it, which I found weird because it actually ended up being cheaper than the one from that same collection that came without it, but I didn't question! Anyways, I also love the color of the pink lip liner, although I found it a bit odd that it didn't really match the lipstick that it came with. That might have been why it was on clearance (it was also 75% off). Maybe it came with the wrong color or something. IDK but I love the lip liner, too, and the lip liner is called [ East-end Snob ].

All the way to the right is the [ Maybelling Dream Mousse concealer in Dark 0-1 ]. I probably could have gone for one shade lighter, but they were all out of the others and I really needed a new concealer. I was watching [ xteeener ] on YouTube and she had purchased one of these concealers and I really wanted to try it, so this concealer was really the reason I came to CVS in the first place. Anyways, I really like this concealer a lot, and it was 50% off. It only ended up being about $3.00 and something cents.
Last, but definitely not least are my nail files! I've been needing some so bad, and I had picked some up from Target the other day but I accidentally got the soft kind! Not good! My nails are so thick and long and strong, those soft ones did nothing for me. Sooo, I picked up these heavy duty nail files, for $1.99. Two came in the pack.

Also, I'm trying to get good at doing nail designs again, but I haven't done it in sooo long so my hands have gotten shaky again. Anyways, here are my nails of the moment. I actually took the time out to soak my cuticles, clip them, buff my nails, shape them and EVERYTHING! I definitely went all out and it was so worth it. My nails look awesome! I feel like I'm wearing fake nails, lol.

Nails of the Moment + Mini Zoya Haul

Hey ladies!
I have a Nail polish of the moment (which I haven't done in forever) and a little mini haul. It's just 3 Zoya Nail polishes (which includes the one I'm wearing now). I ordered the day that they were giving away 3 nail polishes for free, you just had to pay for shipping. So I decided to share with you ladies which ones I got and which one I'm wearing.
Also, if you ordered during the Zoya sale, let me know which 3 you got!

Okay, so this is what it looks like. This color is a very gorgeous neutral color called Bridgit. It's a kind of browny/orangey nude and it has a little bit of shimmer. It's kind of sheer so I had to apply 3 coats, but the color is gorgeous! For some reason this bottle came without the "Zoya" on the front, i don't know why, lol but it's Zoya! Just trust me.

Okay so this is a really gorgeous color. As you can see it's like a really paste purple with a greenish shimmer to it. It's Gorgeous, and it's more opaque than Bridgit (the one I'm wearing). I have a color REALLY similar to it that i've shown you guys before that's called Laura and it's by NYX. However, that one's really old and I'm starting to run out. I'm glad I found a dupe of it because that's one of my favorite nailpolishes. Anyways, this one by Zoya is called Nikki.

Okay and finally here is the last one. It's a very pretty hot magenta color that I love (and I actually have this one on my toes, I just didn't want to take a picture of my feet lol). This color is the most opaque out of all of them and I could have just put one coat, but I also at least do two with all my nail polishes, I don't know why. But yeah, it's a very gorgeous color and I think I may put it on my nails after I take Bridgit off. This is a great Summer color and it's called Trinity.

I've been searching for the perfect nude nail polish for a long time and I REALLY like Bridgit, but she's not the PERFECT one. What is your favorite nude nail polish?

Spring Must-haves

I can't wait for spring and to wear these gorgeous florals, and heels, and girly colors! Spring is my favorite season for fashion, I think. Where I love you can still wear long sleeves, but you can also wear skirts and shorts, and you'll be fine! So I cannot wait! plus the color palette for Spring is my favorite, all my favorite colors. I'm hoping I lose like 20 pounds before spring, that was I can rock EVERYTHING! lol, I'm really working at it.

A Healthy Breakfast!

Hey ladies!
Those of you who used to be subscribed to the old blog that I accidentally deleted know that I was on a diet and going to the gym and stuff, and that was at the end of last semester and through the summer. I lost a total of about 8-10 pounds, but once I started heading back to school I started slacking. Plus, I moved off campus and the gym that's in my apartment complex isn't as good, but for the last month I have been back at it, plus I've started more healthy eating habits. Plus I'm going to the gym a lot, and staying active, so even though the last time I was serious, I just didn't know how to work it all into my schedule, but i've figured it out now. so anyways, I'm going to start my diet segment again, and I'm going to show you the healthy meals I make that are easy and college-student affordable.
Along with showing you a healthy breakfast in this post, I'd like to make it a Q&A post. So in the comments, ask me any questions about my diet, my goals, what
I eat or do at the gym, anything health related, and my next post will be answering some of those questions! But anyways, here is what I made this morning for a healthy breakfast.

Egg-white Sandwich with Golden Delicious Apples & Peanut butter.

This was really simple.
- All I did was fried only the egg white of the egg in a pan with Olive Oil, because olive oil contains less fat. I seasoned each side with a little salt and pepper
- Then, I put it on some wheat bread, that I used a square cookie cutter to take the crust off (because it looks pretty and I dont like crust).
- I put one piece of white American Cheese (you can use American cheese with 2% milkfat or whatever, but I only had regular).
-Then that's it for the sandwich. I didn't add any sauce or anything because the melted cheese was good enough for me.
- As for the apples, I just got a Golden Delicious Apple, sliced it up, and put some peanut butter on the side to dip the apples in. Peanut butter is good for you, btw! It contains Omega-3, fiber, & protein! Studies have also shown that it's been known to prevent Gallstones and Alzheimer disease. So don't think that just because it tastes good, it's fatning because, it has far more advantages than disadvantages!

I went into H&M today to look for a cute shirt or something to buy with my giftcard. I had some money left on a mechandise card for when I returned something a few weeks ago, and then I got one of the $5 off H&M giftcards that they were handing out before the holidays. Funny thing is, I was about to throw out the H&M bag and found the card in there. I had no idea the girl put it in my bag, but I'm glad I found it. Anyways, I'd been saving them, but the one $5 off one expires on the 15th, so I wanted to spend it while I remembered. They're having a huge sale right now, so I only planned on spending about $20 but when I got there the sale section was pretty...picked over.
I started looking around the store, and I didn't want to spend too much, so I was headed over to the jewelry section. I decided I was just going to stock up on some cute jewelry. But then, on one of the shelves on the wall...I saw them. The new loves of my life! I ran over to them, looked at the price tag, and only $24.95! I've been looking for some fabulous shoes like these for a LONG time and I finally found them at a VERY affordable price, not to mention I had a gift card! Ohhh man. Today is my day! Anyways, let me stop yapping & show you these beautiful, beautiful cheetah wedges I got today! I loveee them.

Finally happy with my blog....

Okay so I'm finally kind of happy with my blog! I mean it's simple but I like it like that. I still have some things to add to it. I want some more pictures on the side, I want to add an animation from a video or something that links to my YouTube & twitter instead of just the icons, but once I get MY laptop up and running again I'll have that. I wanna design a new signature to put at the bottom of all of my posts, I think those things are cute lol.

I'll get it finished, and maybe a background, once my laptop is working again. Also a new header. I need to figure out how to center them. Sometimes they're not centered and it gets on my nerves haha. Anyways, if any of you guys know any good, FREE, blogger template sites, let me know. I've been trying to figure out CSS & HTML by myself. I know a good amount, but I don't know how to make my own full template the way I want it. I'll learn!

Anyways, I'll update soon, i'm going back to my apartment tomorrow. My mom is sad that I have to leave her. She always cries a little when I leave which breaks my heart. I hate that. I don't want to leave either! But...sighhh. I got to. My mom is my life. I love her. Alright! TTYL!

Laptop Difficulties!

Okay, so I am not neglecting you guys, but right now I'm on my mom's laptop to tell you that MY laptop is on hiatus right now lol. My charger broke, and my laptop was ALREADY dead, so I had to order a new charger. So once it gets here, I can get into my computer, edit some pics and videos and give you guys some new YouTube videos and blog posts. Sorry for the delay on Christmas posts.

Also, Sorry my blog is kind of a mess right now, I'm, in the process of trying to get it how I want it. I like the cheetah print but I need more pictures and detail...it's starting to bore me! So anyways, just wanted to tell you ladies that, and HELLO to my 5 new followers! Love you guys.

It's Krystmas Eve!

MERRY KRYSTMAS EVE!

Okay, so I know I'm a couple of hours early for Christmas Eve,
but I decided to take a couple of pretty pictures of my mini
tree and all of the presents that I have to bring home. Some
of them my Boyfriend is bringing home to his family, too.
Then the ones on the table are the ones we're opening with
our roomie!
We're opening those tonight at midnight because, they're both
from NC, and we're all going to see our families for Christmas
and we're leaving tomorrow after they get off of work.
So I won't be spending Christmas with my boo, but that's okay.
He was with me last year and I was going to go with him this
year until my mommy got sick. But he needs to be with his family
and I need to be with mine, so we're celebrating the night before!
No biggie, it'll be our little Christmas together!

What I Used:
NYX eyeshadow base: Nude/Beige
NYX Jumbo Pencil: Pots n' Pans
ELF 6 Eyeshadow palette: Party (Using the Silver, the Purple, and the Charcoal color)
Sephora Highlight color: Aspen Summit

Here's the palette:
You can get it for $3 on ELF or Target!
-Take the silver color and applied it from the inner corner and about 2/3's of the lid. Then Apply the silver to the first half of your bottom lash line. (The silver is the first color in the second row)
-Then take the dark purple (that is the 3rd color on the first row) and apply it to the remainder of your lip. Blend the silver and and the purple together.
-Then with a blending brush, take the charcoal color (the middle color on the bottom row) and tap a little bit of color on your outer corner, and blend it out a little bit, just to make the purple look a little dark on the corner. This will add depth and smokiness.
-Take the charcoal color and apply it to the rest of your bottom lash line.
-Apply some winged liquid liner to the top lash line, black eyeliner to your tight line, and white eyeliner to your bottom water line.
-Apply a black mascara and Lady Gaga Viva Glam lipglass, and you're DONE!

Final event for my mom's funraiser!

Hello everyone!
I know I did a dumb random post today but this is NOT A DUMB RANDOM POST!
My mom's fund-raiser is coming to an end soon, but we want to go out with a bang.

To update you, my mommy is doing well, and today marks the first day of the last week of her radiation treatment! So 4 weeks after this week, we should know much more about this tumor that she had.

Anyways, about the fundraiser. It ends on December 15th, so up until then we're asking everyone we know to just donate $15! If you've already donated, that is fantastic and my family and I really appreciate every penny. But if you have a little bit of extra cash to spare from that last pay check, whether you've donated already or not, then we'd GREATLY appreciate it. And we understand that it's holiday season and wallets are tight, but if $15 is still too much, just donate $5! Remember, this is for a great cause. My mom is a hair-stylist, so while she's out of work she's making NO money. These donations are helping with bills to keep her house AS WELL as her future bills for the surgery and the treatment.

So we're just asking for a little bit from you guys. Don't buy that shirt you want this paycheck, give that $15 to help my mom, and buy the shirt next week :) PLEASE?

Here are the pictures & what I used:

LA COLORS PALETTE in CHIC:

I used the top right hand corner color for the inner corner of my eye lid.
Next, I used the bottom right hand corner color for the remainder of my eye lid.
Finally from this palette I used the bottom left hand corner color in the outer corner to give it a bit more depth, but it's not too noticable.

I went over the 2nd color using another purple shade from the 88 coastal scents palette, but you guys can check out which one I used in the video. It's just another lilac purple color.

Finally for my Highlight, I used Aspen Summit by Sephora:

This has been long overdue.
But I'm back at it again!

Anyways, I LOVE this color and this is one of the cheapy-cheap nail polishes that you can pick up at Walgreens or CVS. The brand is called Confetti and it says "long wear nail polish". Yeah, it's not lying. The first time I used this nail polish, it stayed on for at least a week without hardly chipping. And I know it's fall, but I don't LOVE dark colors for my nails, so I'm going to keep using my pinks! This is definitely my favorite pink out of all of my colors. It's the prettiest baby pink everrr. I want to go get more Confetti colors because this is the only one I own, but this one is called "Dance Party Pink."
Although I did have to put on 3 coats to make it opaque like this, I highlyyyy recommend Confetti nail polishes.

I LOVE COOKING

Remember a while ago when I posted the
recipe for Strawberry Yum Yum and you all LOVED it!?
Well, I'm getting back into cooking now, and I have another
recipe for you all today.

Most of the recipes that I show you all are going to be REALLY easy but also REALLY GOOD! So without further ado, here's my recipe for my GARLIC & HERB BUFFALO WINGS!

You Will Need:
Lawry's Steak & Chop Marinade
McCormick's Garlic and Herb Buffalo Wing Seasoning mix (comes in a packet)
2 lbs of a combination of chicken wings & drumlettes
Minced Garlic (1 tsp)
Garlic powder & salt
1 Box of GOYA Rice with Black beans

Preheat over to 450.

1. Take your chicken out of the pack and rinse off.
2. If your wings comes with the extra joint, then cut that part off to make it look like the smaller wings that you get at restaurants IF you want. That's how i did it but you can also leave those on there if you live.
3. Put chicken into a medium/large bowl and cover/coat all chicken with the Lawry's Steak and Chop Marinade. Add the teaspoon of minced garlic into the marinade with chicken. Use less or no garlic according to your preference. I personally LOVE garlic!
4. With your CLEANS hands, swish the chicken around in the bowl and make sure they're all coated and that there is a decent amount of marinade at the bottom still so the chicken is kind of soaking in it. Then, stick chicken in the fridge to marinate. The marinade says it's a 15 minute marinade but I was hungry so I just left it in for 10 minutes and the chicken still ended up VERY flavorful!
5. After 10-15 minutes is up, take chicken out of fridge, and individually take out chicken and place in large plastic ziplock baggie. Add McCormick Garlic & Herb Buffalo Wing Seasoning Mix to bag. Squeeze bag to evenly coat chicken with the seasoning mix. Discard any remaining marinade.
6. Get out a baking dish (big enough for all of the chicken to fit), line with aluminum foil, and coat with butter. Then lay the chicken down (make sure they're not on top of each other) on the aluminum sheet.
7. Sprinkle a little garlic salt and then some more garlic powder, and then put the chicken in the oven and bake for 30 minutes.

This is when I started making the rice because both took about 30 minutes to make. They ended up being done at the same time and it was PERFECT. The chicken is sooo easy to make and it was sooo unbelievably good, moist, flavorful, crispy, YUM!
You guys HAVE to try this and let me know how it turns out.

Another Update.

Thanks for keeping up with me you guys
seriously it means a lot to me.
Thank you all for praying for my mommy
because your prayers are REALLY doing some good.

The tumor is mostly removed. Brain tumors are a pretty scary thing. But over 90% was removed. However she will have to go through radiation and take chemo pills to keep the tumor from growing back. So the most important thing is that it's TREATABLE.
ALSO, the type of tumor it is will not spread anywhere, which is also a good sign.
My mom is in really good condition right now and was talking normally about an hour after surgery. I had to drive back to school tonight because I stay about 2 hours away, but it was such a relief to have talked to her before I left. I'll be going back the next few weekends to be with her while she heals. And she'll be out of the hospital sometime by the end of the week or early next week. I can't wait until she's back to normal.

I'm not going to lie, I'm crying a lot. Not so much because I don't think she's going to be okay...I do think she'll be okay! But it's just NOT fair that she has to go through this because my mom is seriously such a good person but ya know. Life isn't fair and it could happen to anyone.

So I'm just trying to be as supportive as I can. It kills me that I can't be with her every second. I just wish I could drop out of school and move back home and just stay with her every second but I know that'd be stupid and she would kill me if I did that.

It's going to be hard at first, but we'll just have to adjust. I'm just glad she's out of surgery and okay!

Update on mommy!

Anyways....

UPDATE.
on mommy.

My mommy is doing fine right now, but she's getting frustrated. The surgery still hasn't happened but it's FINALLY been confirmed for Wednesday morning. It was supposed to be today, then Tuesday, and they FINALLY said wednesday morning, definitely.
In a way it's a good sign they're pushing her back because it's not so much an emergency because she's stable. She's perfectly healthy otherwise. She's just really upset because she wants it to be over with. Plus she's scared and keeps having to get nervous everyday just to find out it won't be happening that day. But her nurses have all been nice and other than frustration she is good.
I've been missing some work and some classes but it's all worth it. My job has been completely understanding and I've contacted all of my professors who have been the same way. I've been lucky.

But back to my mom.

So yeah, surgery is scheduled for Wednesday. She's also scared for what it might be. We have no idea yet. Cancer? A tumor? Blood clot? We have no idea. Whatever it is, they said they'd be able to get most of it out, and whatever is too close to the brain to touch, they will do chemotherapy.
Good news: They won't be shaving much hair to get it out, and with my mother being a hair dresser, she's really relieved about that. The way this waiting room has been looking, you'd think she was Kim Kardashian or something! When I told her that she started cracking up. I feel so thankful though. There are some people on this floor who can't even speak, or who can't walk, or who are on permanent bed rest. Thank God my mother is up and aware of everything. She's being really strong and hanging in there.
Also, she was in ICU when she first got here, but she was moved into a normal room which was another good sign. She'll still on the same floor for Neuroscience, but seeing her off of so many machines and in a normal room is great.

The lady she's sharing a room with is REALLY old and has pneumonia. It is so sad. So just as I'm asking people to pray for my mom I will pray for that woman and everyone else in this hospital for that matter. Although I know not everyone can pull through, I will pray that they do anyways.

Hey everyone.

PLEASE READ THIS.

It's Krystle.
This isn't going to be a beauty or fashion blog,
more like a "pray for my mom" blog.

My mom is in the hospital right now. For the past month or two she hasn't been feeling well. One side of her head had been hurting and she just...hasn't been herself. At first she would just say nothing was wrong, but after a while she couldn't hide it. If my mom could fight something off and not tell anybody, she would. Not only because she's strong, but she doesn't like the people she loves to worry about her.
About two weeks ago she finally went to the doctor. At first they thought it was a bad sinus infection so they gave her anti-biotics...that didn't help. Then they thought she had bells palsy...not that either. She then had to go to a specialist and take a few tests. The last test was yesterday, and they found something in her head, on the frontal part of her brain.
They aren't sure what it is yet, but i found out today in between classes that she has to have surgery. So, I skipped my last class, called out from work, because i was supposed to work tomorrow, and now I'm about to head home to be with her.
Seriously, you guys don't know how scared I am. My mom is my best friend in the entire world. I go to movies with her, shopping with her, out to eat with her, EVERYTHING with her. Not my friends....my mom! and it's just so hard to see her going through this and I haven't been there because I'm 2 hours away at school.
But this weekend I'm going home because I HAVE to be with her.
She's supposed to be having the surgery either saturday or monday, but she'll be in the hospital until then. The words BRAIN and SURGERY freak me out ESPECIALLY WHEN THEY'RE IN A SENTENCE TOGETHER! (with mom). So yeah.
And when I think about it, i feel really selfish. I'm crying because I'm scared but what about my mom. SHE is the one who has to go through it, and that makes me even more scared to just try and imagine how scared SHE is. But she is holding in there and is fine right now. I just...gotta go home.

Keep my mother in your prayers. She is one of the most generous, funny, kind, cutest, people you will ever meet, and although most of you never will meet her, i ask that you please pray for her. PLEASE. I know she'll be okay, but the more prayers the better. I've honestly never been so scared in my life, and I can probably say that she probably hasn't either.
The doctors say the thing is easy to get to, so hopefully everything will go okay.
If you don't believe in God, at LEAST just keep her in your thoughts.

Hello Lovelies.
I'm back :)

I've been so busy with school...exams and all!
Anyways, I went home last weekend and me, my boyfriend Michael, my cousin AJ, my bestie Alissa, and my friend (and my boyfriend's neice) Christina went to a hookah bar. Hookah bars and pretty chill, but I still wanted to look pretty cute SOOOO ....
I went for a casual-clubby look all in one!

Sorry, I'm in love!

SCENT SHOTS:
Bella Swan: This one is kind of subtle, but I will let it cure, however I love this scent. The number one reason why: it smells exactly like my mommy And I miss my mommy now that i'm on my own and everything. As soon as I smelt this I was like...omg! That is so weird. It smells sooooo good. I need to get a huge candle so my whole room can smell like my mommy!!! I can't wait to tell her. But to get to the point lol, it's a light floral smell, definitely not over-powerful and almost powdery, with a light fruity note to it too. Like a grapey fruity. It's so good

Mango Sage Tea: This one smells okay. Right now I think I'm mainly getting the sage although I'm not really sure what sage smells like. I wish more of the mango/tea was coming out to give it more of a sweet smell but I'm not getting that. It's not bad though. Just not what I was expecting. The more I smell it the more I get the fruit/mango smell but i still don't get the strong tea (or at least not a sweeter tea) smell. Hopefully it gets a bit sweeter when I burn it, if not it's still okay, just not my fave.

Peppermint Bark: Like everyone says, it smells like an Andes Mint. I love this scent. I wish I would have gotten this in a 9 oz. Oh well...next time. The smell is so...REAL. Like if you were holding this to my nose and I had a blind fold on I would take it from you and eat it! It smells SOOO good. I wanna wait until it's cold to burn it but IDK if I can, so this will probably be a re-order when I purchase again in November! LOVEEE.

Pink Bubble Gum Crush: kldjfadfda OMG! This is a DEAD - ON - NO - JOKE dupe of what this is supposed to be a dupe of...that's sitting in my shower and that I love. Now I can bless the rest of my apartment with this wonderful smell and not just my bathroom. YES! Okay...I am SO excited. I mean even the soapy smell is in there. Victoria, how you do it I will never know but I love you because of this! (This is like a tie as my #1 favorite with Lemon Pound Cake!)

Pumpkin Eggnog: I love pumpkin smells This one smells sooo nice. Right now I'm mainly getting spicy pumpkin. Not too spicy but...pretty spicy. BUT I do get a little poke of the eggnog! So HOPEFULLY (and if this is the case someone tell me) when I burn it the eggnog will come out even more. I REALLY hope so. But I do get it a little on a cold throw and this smell is soo good. I wish I would've switched this SS with my 9 oz candle pumpkin smell that i'll get to later because I like the other one but this one is better.

Raspberry White Mocha Latte: I love latte/coffee/starbucksy smells and this one is definitely one! The Raspberry is a LITTLE cough-syrupy...BUT it's still really yummy. I definitely get the rich white chocolate and the latte/coffee smell. The coffee smell was really what I was looking for and I get it. I really want one of these now Very yummmm.

9 OZ CANDLES:
Pumpkin Pear Strudel: This is the one I wish I would've switched with pumpkin eggnog, but it's okay because this one still smells really good. I'm just a sucker for sweet scents and this one just isn't as sweet. Other than that I get both scents, the pumpkin and the pear, and I guess because the pear smell is sooo realistic and not artificial at all, that's why it's not as sweet. But I like that. I do get a little bit of a sweet bakery scent but not too much. I'm going to let this one cure though, and I'm sure it will be much better warmed up as well!

Red Velvet Cake: I think this is my 2nd favorite from this order. I really love this one, and I can't WAIT til my boyfriend gets off of work because he LOVES Red Velvet Cake. He's the reason I got this one. IT ACTUALLY HAS a little cheesecake frosting hint to it, and I wasn't sure if it would but it does, so YAY! And it really smells pretty much dead on. Really sweet and cakey but distinctively a RED VELVET cake

GLITTER CANDLE:
Blueberry Cobbler: My beautifulllll glitter candle. My first one. I took the sticker off because there was someone's hair strand running through it and it left a big line through the sticker and then there was hair hanging out of both ends lol...kinda grose but that's okay. It's pretty now. I've never tried this scent but bought this in a big candle because you all love it and say it smells great! IT DOES! It's so sweet and bakery smelling. I love the smell of the blueberry pie filling I get, and the crustiness, omg. It's sooo good. I was originally going to get blueberry cheesecake but got this one instead because many of you said "ohh i liked blueberry cheesecake the best but then I got blueberry cobbler and it's even better!" So yeahhhh! But I'm still going to try blueberry cheesecake, but I'm definitely glad I got this one.

Home Sweet Home: This one smells so cute. It reminds me of Cracker Barrel. Have you guys been there? It smells like the room in the front with all of the things you can buy. Kinda cinnamony and stuff. This has a little sweet/bakery note to it, and it smells like something my home would smell like on Christmas, not necessarily a daily basis, but I like it. It's nice and fall-ey. Glad I got an extra fall scent

Hello everyone.
I'm back, as I said in my last post.
I have a Lush Review.

Okay so about a month or 2 ago, I went to Lush, not for the first time but it was the first time I ever bought anything from there. I was sooo excited. You can go back several posts and find it, I posted a little mini haul. I only got 2 things, one because I was trying to save up some money, two because I didn't want to buy a million things and end up not liking them (yeah right).

Anyways, in case you forgot, I bought the "Think Pink Bath Bomb" and the "God Mother Soap".
I have been using my God Mother soap occasionally since I bought it, I still have a lot left. I LOVE the smell of it. Like, when I use it, I just can't stop rubbing it all over me or all over my hands. I've even bitten it a few times hoping that it would taste as good as it smells lol. Besides the soapy taste, I actually think it might. I have nothing but amazing things to say about that soap. It smells so good and as SOON as I run out I am going to get some more. I'm trying to conserve.
Now, I was waiting to use my bath bomb until I moved and got settling into my apartment so I could use it in my first bath in my first apartment. I've been here about 2 weeks now and I used it the other day. I only wanted to use half, but I just had to throw the whole thing in the tub. It smelt soooo good. Just smelling the bath bomb it was such a sweet floral smell, but once it hits the water the aroma is even better. ALSO it turns your water pink. I mean what girly girl doesn't want their bath water to turn pink. The best part is, ONLY the water turned pink, not my tub & not me! How many times have you bought a cheap bath bomb from a company and it turned your tub and your hands and feet that color? That's happened to me like twice, but not this time. BIG PLUS FOR ME. I noticed that the bomb had moisture in it. Sitting in the bath water my skin immediately felt so silky and soft, like I had gotten in with lotion on, but I didn't. It was weird, but good! I know it not just a bath bomb to have fun with, but it also works and makes my skin feel good. I did not want to get of the tub, but when I finally did and I drained the water, I had a cute little trail of little pink paper hearts. I didn't wash them out right away. I thought it was too cute.

So in other words, I love Lush, I love what I got, and they get an A+ with me so far.
Not to mention, customer service at Lush is so great. The people are nice every
time I go in there and they will help you if you feel overwhelmed with all of
the amazing things that you have to choose from.
So yeah, love them.
Go get some LUSH!

UPDATE / Where I've Been !

Hello my lovelies...
Sorry i've been gone for so long. Like 2 weeks!? Omg, I am really sorry! But I do have an excuse. I've been moving! Yes, I moved into an apartment near the school that I go to so I'm actually on my own for the first time, besides being in a dorm room. I'm living here with my boyfriend and it's GREAT!
Me and my boyfriend have been together for 3 1/2 years so we figured that it's time for us to move in since it's time for us to be on our own now anyways. Not only that, he's like my best friend. There are only like 2 other people in this world I wouldn't mind rooming with. But anyways, that's where I've been.
I'll be back with a post with pictures soon, but I'm still cleaning up and getting situated. I also still need dressers. Blahh. Sooo once my room is neat and tidy with everything in it I will give you a little tour.
Until then I am going to be posting more posts, I promise. I have a review coming up anyways because I finally used my Lush Products. I'll probably actually do that later tonight...maybe lol.

Book Bloggin`: A Thousand Splendid Suns.

Okay, I told one of my favorite bloggers on here, Hershey Kissez, that I was going to start reading a lot more books and giving reviews about them on my blog. I LOVE reading and I've just started reading again over the summer because during school it's a challenge. You have so much other stuff that you need to read for classes and what not so it's nearly impossible, but it's summer so I am going to take advantage of reading and hopefully continue to balance out my time in school.

I was at VA BEACH for a week, and I LOVE reading at the beach so I decided to take a book I had a home. I had already read halfway through this book but stopped a few months ago. Why?! I have no idea because this was definitely one of the best books I've ever read and I finished it in like 4 days.

This books is called "A Thousand Splendid Suns" by Khaled Hosseini and was inspired by the poem "Kabul" written by a Persian poet by the name of Saib-e-Tabrizi. Here's the poem:

Ah! How beautiful is Kabul encircled by her arid mountains
And Rose, of the trails of thorns she envies
Her gusts of powdered soil, slightly sting my eyes
But I love her, for knowing and loving are born of this same dust

My song exhalts her dazzling tulips
And at the beauty of her trees, I blush
How sparkling the water flows from Pul-I Bastaan!
May Allah protect such beauty from the evil eye of man!

Khizr chose the path to Kabul in order to reach Paradise
For her mountains brought him close to the delights of heaven
From the fort with sprawling walls, A Dragon of protection
Each stone is there more precious than the treasure of Shayagan

Every street of Kabul is enthralling to the eye
Through the bazaars, caravans of Egypt pass
One could not count the moons that shimmer on her roofs
And the thousand splendid suns that hide behind her walls

Her laughter of mornings has the gaiety of flowers
Her nights of darkness, the reflections of lustrous hair
Her melodious nightingales, with passion sing their songs
Ardent tunes, as leaves enflamed, cascading from their throats

And I, I sing in the gardens of Jahanara, of Sharbara
And even the trumpets of heaven envy their green pastures

I think it's a beautiful poem. The poem is talking about the beautiful land of Kabul, Afghanistan which is the setting of the movie. However, through much of the book there is war tearing through the beautiful country. War of the Soviets attacking, war from the Taliban taking over Afghanistan, and there is even a little bit of post 9-11 war going on.
The story is about the women of Afghanistan and how they were treated. The two main characters names were Mariam and Laila who once shared totally separate lives. Laila, a pretty good life. She was the little sister of two heroic brothers who died fighting for their country and because of this she was often ignored by the mothers mourning of her sons. However, Laila confided most in her father, who always encouraged her to stay in school because one day woman would be of great importance in Afghanistan.
Mariam, on the other hand, led the life of a very pool young girl, who's mother was sent to live in the small "kolba" they've lived in since she was born. This was because at one time Mariam's mother was the servant in his house hold, a man who owned a cinema and had three wives, but when he impregnated the servant, Mariam's mother, she was sent off so that his reputation was not ruined. He continued to come by and visit Mariam every week, but her mother always warned him of the lies that he would tell her, and told her how insincere he really was.
Now I don't want to give away the story so I will stop there, but I will tell you that somehow, both of these ladies meet up later on in the story. Mariam, then, is much older than Laila. When I first read the book I was a little bit confused because it starts off with Mariam's story, then a while into the book it starts Laila's story. However, then the lives of these two women become intertwined and it's amazing how Hosseini wrote this book so beautifully. If you've read the Kite Runner, you'll love this book too. I hope it becomes a movie.
Please keep in mind I am leaving a lot of stuff out because I really don't want to spoil it. I gave the general jist of the story. There is definitely romance, betrayal, hate, love, action, drama, suspense, everything. I cried at a few parts. It's really crazy but really good and it has so many twists and turns, you just never know really what will happen. Overall it is a very sad, yet happy book and I definitely think EVERYONE should read it.
